OEM Programming & Coding on Long Island

Vehicle-specific programming support for collision centers, independent repair shops and vehicle owners.

Replacement module setup and configuration

PJ Diagnostics provides OEM programming and coding for supported vehicles. A replacement control module may need software, vehicle configuration, initialization or relearns before it can operate correctly with the rest of the vehicle.

Control modules

  • Engine and transmission control modules
  • Body control and lighting modules
  • ABS and steering modules
  • Supported ADAS and electronic systems

Programming support

  • Manufacturer software programming
  • Vehicle configuration and coding
  • Initializations and relearns
  • Diagnostics after module replacement

Before your appointment

Provide the VIN, module name, part number and repair history. Tell us whether the replacement module is new or used. Used modules are not interchangeable on every vehicle; availability depends on the manufacturer, part and security requirements.

Mobile and in-shop service

We are based in Oceanside and serve shops across Long Island. Contact us to confirm mobile coverage and any setup needed for your specific vehicle. Some work requires an in-shop appointment.

Programming or diagnostics?

A warning light does not automatically mean a module needs replacement or programming. We can diagnose communication faults and related electrical issues to help identify what is actually required.

Programming, coding and relearns are different jobs

Programming installs the software specified for a supported control module. Coding or configuration sets up applicable vehicle options. Initializations and relearns complete vehicle-specific setup steps after certain repairs. A job may need more than one of these procedures.

The correct next step depends on the VIN, installed part, symptoms and manufacturer service information. A replacement module that plugs in physically is not necessarily compatible or ready to use.

What to tell us about a replacement module

  • The VIN, module name and part number.
  • Whether the replacement is new, used or remanufactured.
  • Why it was replaced and whether the original module is still available.
  • Any fault codes, previous programming attempts or communication problems.

Electrical faults and unstable communication may need diagnosis before programming. Send the repair history when you call so we can confirm availability and plan the appropriate work.

Does a software update fix every warning light?

No. Wiring damage, power or ground problems, incompatible parts and other faults can produce similar symptoms. We recommend identifying the cause rather than treating programming as a universal fix.

For damaged circuits or an intermittent fault, explore electrical diagnostics and wiring repairs.
