Electrical Diagnostics & Rodent Damage Repair

Find the cause behind no-starts, warning lights, damaged wiring and vehicle communication faults.

Automotive electrical diagnostics on Long Island

PJ Diagnostics helps identify electrical faults affecting vehicle modules, sensors and wiring. Symptoms can overlap, so we investigate the affected system and circuits before recommending a repair scope.

Electrical issues we investigate

  • No-start and intermittent electrical symptoms
  • Module communication faults
  • Damaged wires, connectors and harnesses
  • Sensor, lighting and driver assistance faults

Rodent-damaged wiring

Chewed insulation and damaged connectors can interrupt power, ground or communication circuits. We inspect the affected wiring, document findings and discuss repair options.

Insurance claim repair support

We can provide diagnostic findings, repair descriptions and supporting documentation for claim-related electrical and rodent-damage repairs. Bring your claim number, adjuster information and any previous inspection or repair paperwork.

Coverage and approval: Insurance coverage, repair authorization and payment depend on the policy, cause of damage and adjuster approval. We do not guarantee that a specific repair will be covered or paid.

What happens next?

  1. Call with the VIN, symptoms, location and known damage.
  2. We confirm service availability and arrange a diagnostic appointment.
  3. We discuss findings, recommended repairs and documentation needs.

Programming and calibration after repairs

Depending on what was repaired or replaced, the vehicle may also need module programming, relearns or ADAS calibration. We can discuss those services for supported vehicles.

One damaged circuit can cause several symptoms

A vehicle with chewed wiring may show several warning lights, fail to start, lose communication with a module or develop an intermittent problem. The visible damage is a starting point, not a complete diagnosis. The affected circuits and related components need to be assessed before the repair scope is clear.

Let us know whether the issue started suddenly, follows rain or water exposure, or appeared after another repair. Photos of visible damage and previous scan reports can help explain the history, but an estimate may still require inspection of the vehicle.

Repairing a wire or replacing a harness?

The appropriate repair depends on where the damage is, which circuits are affected, the condition of connectors and terminals, and the applicable manufacturer repair requirements. A small visible break does not establish the full extent of damage, and replacing a module alone may not resolve an underlying wiring fault.

Water exposure or flood damage?

Water intrusion has a different diagnostic history from chewed wiring. See our flood damage diagnostics page for next steps.
